the prophet

behold this being
of spirit that declares
an unholy might
that seeks to live with its life
and die with its death
if that is the fate
it deems for itself

behold this body
in the prime of its power
betraying a beauty
that is yet fearsome and pure
that yet seeks its destiny
that yet wants to regenerate and mature
and turn all the tides sent to destroy it

behold this youth
imprisoned within its four walls
built to tame and educate and nullify
a youth
that can see only
the dead and dying faces
of the cancerous leeches
who know not that their day has come.
